When it comes to picking out the perfect container for your patio or maybe for inside your home, don't be shy. It's okay to use a pot that has a little bit of color in it.

Here we have a beautiful burnt orange or maybe some apple green, which happens to be one of Chris's favorite colors because it goes with some many looks, everything from contemporary feel to a traditional feel.

And if you want to go big, how about a Greek jar with some bamboo coming out of it. This makes the statement that "somebody here has great taste."

You can even use big containers in your flower beds. Here we have a lime green jar sitting in the middle of an otherwise boring garden. It draws your attention and then brings you down into the landscape and lets your view the different types of plants.

Now if you are using other types of containers that are more in a neutral color, then it becomes important that you pick the right type of plant material to go in there. Make sure you choose cascading plants that are full and lush of color.

No matter what type of planter you pick, don't forget to use plants that have texture.
